Britax Child Safety, Inc. (Britax) initiated a recall of child safety seats due to a potential choking hazard for infants from a center tab located on the chest clip. The center tab is marked “ABS” and if broken, may increase the risk of injury from choking to an infant strapped into the safety seat.
The recall involves 207,037 rear-facing infant child safety seats and affects several different Britax seats and model numbers:

The recall began June 21, 2017.
Britax will notify owners if they have a child safety seat affected by the recall, and will provide, free of charge, a replacement chest clip marked “PC”.
