Carolyn Allen
Carolyn Allen is a partner who focuses her practice on representing individuals and families in complex personal injury matters, including medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases. She is dedicated to advocating for those whose lives have been changed by serious injury or death and approaches every case with thorough preparation, strategic insight, and a commitment to achieving meaningful results. Carolyn has recovered more than $22 million on behalf of her clients, reflecting her ability to deliver results in high-stakes cases.
Carolyn has significant experience handling complex litigation and guiding clients through every stage of the legal process. She works closely with clients to ensure they feel informed, supported, and confident as their case progresses. Her practice is grounded in careful case development, attention to detail, and a readiness to take cases to trial when necessary.
Carolyn began her legal career as a criminal defense attorney before transitioning to civil defense litigation, where she represented businesses and insurance companies. These experiences provided her with a valuable understanding of how cases are evaluated, defended, and litigated from the other side. Today, she leverages that insight to anticipate defense strategies, strengthen her case preparation, and advocate more effectively on behalf of her clients.
Her litigation foundation also includes advanced advocacy training as a member of the University of Louisville's National Mock Trial Team and service as a Vice President of the Moot Court Board, experiences that continue to form her courtroom strategy and approach to high-stakes cases.
Carolyn is deeply committed to serving her community and believes that advocacy extends beyond the courtroom. She serves on the External Relations Committee for Volunteers of America Mid-States, supporting efforts to strengthen and uplift vulnerable populations.
She is also actively involved with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) through the firm, contributing to initiatives focused on prevention, education, and support for victims and families. Carolyn takes pride in being part of a firm that prioritizes meaningful community engagement and works to make a lasting impact beyond its legal work.
Carolyn chose to practice plaintiff-side law to help level the playing field for individuals facing powerful institutions during some of the most difficult times in their lives. She is known for being both compassionate and tenacious—building strong relationships with her clients while relentlessly pursuing accountability on their behalf.
Outside the office, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her husband and two children and values staying closely connected to her community both professionally and personally.
