Becker Law Office participated in the MADD NO MORE VICTIMS® Walk. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a grassroots organization that was founded in 1980 by Candy Lightner, a mother whose daughter was killed by a drunk driver. MADD's mission is to prevent drunk driving accidents, support victims, and advocate for stronger laws and policies to create a future with no more victims. As part of its commitment to the cause, Becker Law donated water and bubbles for children to enjoy while at the event.
Greg Bubalo, Managing Partner at Becker Law, gave a moving speech to participants to kick off the walk. He shared a personal story of losing his brother in a traffic accident and the impact that tragedy had on his life, down to the reminder of a sunrise. He emphasized the need to prevent tragic accidents so that others don’t have to experience the same loss; to have no more victims- surviving or departed.
He told the story of the Abbas family, who lost five family members in a senseless accident caused by a drunk driver. Despite their devastating loss, the Abbas family worked with Rep. Debbie Dingell to introduce a bill in Congress that would implement safe driving technology on cars to prevent a drunk person from turning the key and driving off.
Greg's speech at the MADD NO MORE VICTIMS® Walk was a reminder of the importance of organizations like MADD and the impact they have on families and communities. It's essential to support victims of drunk driving accidents, advocate for stronger laws, and work towards a future where no one must experience the pain of losing a loved one to a preventable tragedy.
Becker Law recognizes the importance of MADD's mission and its tireless efforts to promote stronger laws and advocate for a future with no more victims. MADD is more than just mothers; it's fathers, sisters, brothers, families, and friends who care about keeping their loved ones safe. We must continue to support their efforts and work towards a future where no one has to experience the pain of losing a loved one to a preventable drunk driving accident.
By working together, we can create a future with no more victims.
