Honda announced a voluntary recall of 157 of its 2012 Civics to correct an issue involving the steering column in those vehicles. The improperly installed steering column may not absorb energy in the event of a crash thereby increasing the risk of injury to the driver.
The recall began Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Honda began notifying affected Civic owners immediately.
Honda will replace the improperly installed steering columns free of charge.
Civic owners with questions may contact Honda at (800) 999-1009.
